Description

Make a drop dead gorgeous, healthy smoothie with a cool green layer topped with a warm gold layer. Filled with leafy greens, pistachios, orange, cinnamon, and bananas, this vegan, gluten-free, no added-sugar free Super Green and Gold Layered Smoothie is set to impress!


Ingredients

Scale

Green Smoothie Layer:

  • ¼ cup pistachios
  • 1 ½ cups packed kale (may substitute with a different green, such as spinach or chard)
  • 1 medium banana, peeled, quartered
  • 2/3 cup plain, unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 2 ice cubes

Gold Smoothie Layer:

  • 1 large orange, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup plain, unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 2 ice cubes


Instructions

  1. Make the green smoothie by placing pistachios, kale, banana, plant-based milk, and ice cubes in the container of a small blender, and process about 2 minutes, until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. Make the gold smoothie by placing orange, cinnamon, plant-based milk, and ice cubes in another container of a small blender, and process about 2 minutes, until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Prepare 2 large glasses or mason jars (about 2 cups each). Pour half of the green smoothie in each glass (about 1 cup per glass).
  4. Gently pour half of the gold smoothie on top of the green layer in each glass (about 1 cup per glass).
  5. Enjoy!
  6. Makes 2 smoothies (about 2 cups each).
