Try this simple, no-fail brown Cumin Brown Rice recipe as your go-to side dish to pair with whole grain bowls, curries, stir-fries, and baked tofu.
Ingredients
- 3 cups short grain brown rice, uncooked
- 6 + 3/4 cups water
- 2 vegetable bullion cubes
- 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
- Garnish: 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Place rice and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Add bullion cubes and cumin seeds.
- Cover and cook for about 30 minutes, until liquid is absorbed and tender yet firm grains.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
Notes
Instant Pot Directions: Place all ingredients except parsley in the container of the Instant Pot. Press “Rice” setting. Cook according to manufacturer’s directions. Serve immediately.
Slow cooker Directions. Place all ingredients except parsley in the container of the Slow cooker. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 8-12 hours. Cook according to manufacturer’s directions. Serve immediately.
