Lemon Ginger Tahini Dressing – Bright, Creamy & Naturally Vegan

If you’re looking to elevate your meals with something fresh, zesty, and full of flavor, this Lemon Ginger Tahini Dressing is your new go-to. It’s creamy, citrusy, slightly spicy from the fresh ginger, and made with just a handful of wholesome ingredients. Naturally vegan, gluten-free, added salt-free, and added oil-free, it pairs perfectly with salads, grain bowls, roasted vegetables, or even as a dipping sauce. Quick to make and packed with bold flavor, this dressing brings serious brightness to any dish.

This tahini sauce is one of my all-time favorite dressings to use in multiple recipes. It’s so easy to whip up—just whisk together tahini, lemon juice, ginger, black pepper—in a dish with a fork, and voila—you’re ready to drizzle this lemony tahini dressing over falafels, kale salads, power bowls, veggie burgers, and beyond. You can adjust the consistency by adding just the right amount of water, too. Filled with the earthy, nuttiness of tahini, accented with crisp, clean lemon juice, and spiced up with a sprinkling of smoked paprika (if desired), this healthy gingery dressing is an excellent addition to your favorite meals. Check out this recipe for Tofu Kale Power Bowl with Tahini Dressing, which uses this dressing, and watch the video here.

Description

This creamy Lemon Ginger Tahini Dressing is zesty, flavorful, gluten-free and vegan! Perfect for salads, grain bowls, and roasted veggies. Ready in 5 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale

Lemon Ginger Tahini Dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons tahini (stir well)
  • 1 lemon, juiced (2 tablespoons lemon juice)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh, finely grated ginger
  • Pinch salt (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2-4 tablespoons hot water
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Pinch smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together tahini, lemon juice, ginger, salt (optional), black pepper, and enough hot water to make a smooth consistency to your preference. A thicker consistency is desirable for use as a dripping sauce, while a thinner consistency is desirable for salad dressings. Texture will thicken slightly upon refrigeration.
  2. May garnish with smoked paprika, if desired.
  3. Makes 4 servings (about 1 1/2-2 tablespoons each, depending on consistency). This is the ideal amount for a medium salad bowl (about 1-2 quarts). May make this recipe ahead and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
