Six Layer Vegan Magic Bars

Sharon Palmer

When I was a child, my mother would make these super-rich, uber-delicious layered chocolate chip bars for special occasions. I loved to watch her pour on the layers in her Pyrex baking dish: graham cracker crumbs, melted margarine, nuts, chocolate chips, and sweetened condensed milk. She let me help sprinkle on the chocolate chips (though I always popped way too many of those in my mouth!). I’ve been wanting to create a vegan version of this recipe for years, and when I spied sweetened condensed coconut milk at the natural food store, I snatched it up and dug out my mom’s original recipe to experiment with. This recipe for Six Layer Vegan Magic Bars features only six ingredients, and you can  prep it in five minutes, then bake it for about 30 minutes. This is not a healthy recipe, by any means, but when you are enjoying an indulgent, plant-based treat, this will certainly satisfy your craving!

Follow along with my Step-by-Step Guide to make these yummy treats now.
