How to Make Vegan Avocado Crema

Sharon Palmer

Learn how to make a plant-based, gluten-free avocado crema to accompany your favorite foods—tacos, salads, veggie-burgers, chips, and beyond—with this easy step-by-step guide.

Trying to find a healthy, plant-based alternative for a rich, creamy dip or accompaniment to savory dishes? Well, you’re in luck! For those of you who love avocados, you know that they are a perfect basis for creating delicious spreads, dips, and sauces. One of my favorite recipes that incorporates avocados is a plant-based avocado crema that consists of just six ingredients: cashews, lemon juice, garlic, white pepper, avocado, and plant-based milk. Not only is it very simple to make, it’s also perfect to share with friends and family at social gatherings on everything from appetizers to the main event. The combination of these ingredients generates the silkiest, fluffiest, and tastiest dip that can be mixed into a salad, spread on whole grain bread, drizzled on top of a grain bowl, or simply served with a side of chips. I especially love to serve this avocado crema with my jackfruit tacos, lentil patties, and veggie balls. One great thing about this dip is that it can be stored in the fridge for several days, however its irresistible flavor may not last that long, as it will be a fan-favorite. So, gather some fresh avocados and prepare to whip up a heart-healthy, nutrient-rich avocado crema that will keep your hearts and tummies full and happy!
