Freshly grated turmeric makes a wonderful foundation for this colorful, flavorful simple vinaigrette, which perfectly accents pungent greens, as well as Mediterranean-inspired salads, Indian-flavored grain bowls, and beyond. This Fresh Turmeric Vinaigrette offers a great way to highlight that fresh turmeric you might have spied at the natural food store, but didn’t know what to do with! If you don’t have fresh turmeric, just swap out ground turmeric. Double the batch and use it all week long.
Rich in anti-inflammatory compounds and warm earthy flavor, it’s a healthy habit to include more turmeric in your diet. And one of the easiest things you can do with fresh turmeric root is to shred it into a vinaigrette with olive oil and lemon juice, then use it in salads, as a marinade for tofu, or a topping for wraps and salads. Try this simple, five-ingredient turmeric vinaigrette over your next salad bowl.
