Eat a RAINBOW of Fruits and Vegetables
I’m always telling people to eat the rainbow—that means every color of fruits and vegetables—even black and white for that matter. When you eat a diverse assortment of produce, that means you’re gaining full advantage of all those phytochemicals in the plants, which paint their flesh these vibrant colors, whether it’s anthocyanin in blueberries, lycopene in tomatoes, or lutein in corn. Instead of sticking to a few different vegetables in the supermarket, get out there and pack your diet with a vast array of them in order to stave off chronic disease.
My friends at GardenBuildingsDirect.co.uk compiled this wonderful visual, which can help you make the most colorful, healthful choices in your diet every day. So, go ahead, paint your plate every day with all of the colors of the rainbow!
