Description

Make the classic South Tyrolean cocktail called Hugo Spritz with elderflower liqueur, prosecco, sparkling mineral water, and mint or lemon balm leaves.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 10 fresh mint or lemon balm leaves (or a combination of both)
  • 1 fresh lime, sliced thinly (6 slices)
  • 2 ounces elderflower liqueur (i.e., St Germain)
  • 6 ounces sparkling mineral water, regular or lime-flavored
  • 8 ounces prosecco (Italian sparkling wine)


Instructions

  1. Place 3 ice cubes in two large wine glasses.
  2. Add 5 fresh mint or lemon balm leaves to each glass.
  3. Add 3 slices of fresh lime to each glass.
  4. Add 1 ounce elderflower liqueur to each glass.
  5. Add 3 ounces of sparkling mineral water to each glass.
  6. Slowly top with 4 ounces of prosecco in each glass, taking care to allow bubbles to settle while pouring. Gently stir ingredients to mix.
  7. Serve immediately!
